The San Francisco

You never completely forget the feeling of anticipating a performance, but after four months things can become a bit hazy.

It might have been the amount of time in a recording studio, or the lack of playing together as a unit, traveling and meeting new people. Worrying about tempos and tones versus drum circles and intros… Whatever it was, December 17th was a quick blur that turned into a very memorable night.

Our performance in San Francisco was a welcomed change of pace.

Not even finished with recording, we packed up our gear and moved back in to our own studio. With only two weeks to get ready for the show, tension was high. I had this weird sensation that we forgot how to be a band. From summer 08 – summer 09 we played more shows than the previous 5 years combined. Things started to gel and it opened up new doors for us. After an exciting experience down in Hollywood, and some Rainbow Room action, we moved into downtown San Jose to record three songs.

None of us really knew what to expect as far as a performance goes, but one thing for sure was that we all needed some fun. The night just felt right, sound check had a really good flow and we were set to go. Once Ben Henderson, Endika, and Anthony started their set, I knew we had a great night ahead of us.

The crowd was fully engaged, the subs were kicking, and Eric was drunk… it was the perfect storm. Long story short, thank you for joining us this week in San Francisco. We are looking forward to sharing our new music with you. By next year, we want to be in Europe recording our full length debut.

I see something coming up at the Blank Club soon, a little taste of San Jose to connect with our roots.

Until then… See you in 2010
